Nook 22 — Privacy Policy

1 Overview

Nook 22 is a productivity application developed by Adam Tansley / XXII AI ("we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our mobile application.

2 Information We Collect

Information Stored Locally on Your Device

Nook 22 stores the following information locally on your device:

• Kanban Boards: Your boards, columns, cards, tags, and comments
• Checklists: Your checklists and checklist items
• Notes: Your notebooks and note pages with rich text content
• Pomodoro Data: Timer settings and focus session history
• App Preferences: Theme settings (dark/light mode), audio preferences

Information Processed by Third Parties

When you subscribe to Nook 22, the following is processed by our payment providers:

• Subscription Status: Whether you have an active subscription
• Purchase History: Managed by Apple App Store or Google Play Store

We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID to track subscription status but does not receive your personal information from us.

Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect, store, or transmit:

• Your name, email address, or contact information
• The content of your boards, checklists, or notes
• Device identifiers or advertising IDs
• Location data
• Usage analytics or behavioral tracking data
• Any of your productivity data to external servers

3 How We Use Your Information

The information stored locally on your device is used solely for:

• App Functionality: Displaying your boards, checklists, notes, and timer data
• Data Persistence: Saving your work so it's available when you return
• Preference Storage: Remembering your theme and audio settings
• Backup/Export: Allowing you to export your data to a file (at your request)

Subscription status information is used solely to determine which features you can access within the app.

4 Data Storage

All your productivity data is stored locally on your device using secure local storage. This means:

• Your data remains on your device at all times
• We cannot access, view, or retrieve your content
• No internet connection is required to use core features
• Your data is not backed up to our servers

Data Retention

Your data persists on your device until:

• You manually delete items within the app
• You uninstall the application
• You clear the app's data through your device settings

Backup & Export

Nook 22 includes a backup feature that allows you to export all your data to a JSON file. This file is created on your device and shared using your device's share functionality. We do not receive a copy of your backup files.

5 Subscriptions & Payments

Nook 22 offers optional subscription plans to unlock full functionality.

Payment Processing

All payments are processed by:

• Apple App Store for iOS devices
• Google Play Store for Android devices

We do not collect or store your payment information (credit card numbers, billing address, etc.). All payment data is handled directly by Apple or Google according to their respective privacy policies.

Subscription Management

We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status across platforms. RevenueCat:

• Receives an anonymous identifier to track your subscription status
• Does not receive your name, email, or other personal information from us
• Provides us only with aggregated, anonymized analytics

You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your device's App Store or Play Store settings.

6 Third-Party Services

App Distribution

Nook 22 is distributed through:

• Apple App Store: Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy
• Google Play Store: Subject to Google's Privacy Policy

Subscription Management

• RevenueCat: Subject to RevenueCat's Privacy Policy

No Analytics or Advertising

Nook 22 does not include:

• Analytics SDKs or usage tracking tools
• Advertising networks or ad SDKs
• Social media integration or sharing SDKs
• Crash reporting services that transmit your data

7 Your Rights

Because all data is stored locally on your device and we do not collect personal information, you have complete control over your data:

• Access: All your data is accessible directly within the app
• Export: Use the backup feature to export all your data at any time
• Deletion: Delete individual items in-app, or delete all data by uninstalling
• Portability: Export your data as a JSON file to use elsewhere

For EU/EEA Residents (GDPR)

As we do not collect, process, or store personal data on external servers, GDPR data subject rights regarding our processing are not applicable. You retain full control of all data stored locally on your device.

For California Residents (CCPA)

We do not sell personal information. As we do not collect personal information, CCPA rights regarding our data collection are not applicable.

8 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through:

• An update notice within the app
• An updated "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy

Your continued use of Nook 22 after any modifications indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
